In July I photographed Angela and Jason’s elopement in Piermont, New York. In September, they repeated their vows among family and friends in the back yard of their new home. I was happy to be invited to photograph both weddings.

During a phone conversation with Angela and Jason in July to discuss photography plans for their September wedding, they asked if I was free the following Monday. It turns out that they were closing on their new home and didn’t want to move in together unmarried, so they were going to elope to take their vows and redo them among family and friends in September. I cleared my calendar and met them in Piermont, New York, where they were married on the waterfront by the town’s mayor. I was honored to serve as a witness.

Brian and Richard had an intimate wedding ceremony in their home for about 15 close family members and friends. A larger reception will follow in a few weeks, and I’ll be there to photograph the festivities.

Stephanie and David had a delightful wedding at Craft Restaurant in the Flatiron District of Manhattan. I was there to photograph the ceremony, cocktails, and portraits before all the guests sat down for an intimate dinner in Craft’s private dining space.

I did a little bit of second shooting at a small wedding at Night of Joy in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. My favorite shots were these using the bar’s many mirrors.
From time to time I assist a colleague when he photographs weddings. This usually involves carrying equipment and holding lights for portraits. This small wedding at the Eventi Hotel was no exception until my friend learned there was a balcony overlooking the outdoor patio where the wedding was to take place. At the last minute, he asked me to bring my camera to get some bird’s-eye views of the ceremony.

Late in July I shot Keith and Craig’s engagement photos. Just a few weeks later in Brooklyn they tied the knot at Deity, a former synagogue turned event space. The intimate venue was perfect for the small ceremony and party they planned for their close family and friends.
I love photographing children at weddings. Whether or not they understand the significance of the occasion, they sense the joy and celebrate with everyone. Here are some of my favorites shots of the children at a reception I photographed recently at The Breakers on the Ocean in Spring Lake, New Jersey.
Shortly after photographing a couple’s wedding in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, the bride’s parents hosted a reception for extended family and friends at The Breakers on the Ocean in Spring Lake, New Jersey. The weather was spectacular for the cocktail hour on the hotel’s porch overlooking the beach. When the party moved inside, there was a festive lunch followed by toasts, a cake cutting, and much dancing.
