According to the NYU Neuroscience Institute, the Annual Rodolfo Llinás Lecture Series was created “…in recognition of Dr. Rodolfo Llinás’s exemplary contributions to the field of neuroscience throughout his long and distinguished career. Dr. György Buzsáki ‘presented’ this legacy to Dr. Llinás at the 2013 Brain Meets Cognition Symposium. The lecture series will feature prominent neuroscientists whose areas of expertise build upon the seminal contributions of Dr. Llinás.”
Last year I photographed the Brain Meets Cognition Symposium, and I was invited back to photograph the first lecture in the series, presented by Nikos Logothetis, PhD. The room was packed beyond capacity with attendees standing and sitting in the aisles. This seriously limited my mobility, but I did my best to cover the lecture from all angles. The lecture was followed by a reception with much more room for me to move around.
