Black-and-White Studio Portraits

My friend came to my studio to model for me as I tried some moody lighting that’s out of character with the commercial work I normally do. I felt color wasn’t working, so I converted the shots to black-and-white and liked them much better. Working in black-and-white is also not ordinary for me, so the shoot felt even more creative than normal.

Moody Portrait

I don’t normally make dark portraits or work in black-and-white, but I stepped out of my comfort zone on this one and I think it worked well enough that I’ll try again sometime.
