In October 2014 I visited Gantry Plaza State Park at sunset. I got some passable photos, but I felt they could be much better at sunrise with the sun illuminating the east side New York City skyline from behind me. I finally made it there on a Sunday morning, waking up at 4:00 a.m. to arrive at 5:30 for a 6:00 sunrise. I had no idea how relaxing it would be all alone on the East River in Long Island City on a breezy summer morning. At sunrise quality of light is completely different than at sunset. My favorite shot is the second one below, where the light was completely blue for just a moment.
