A digital audio archivist came to my studio for a portrait. Upon arriving, he mentioned he brought props. No one had ever done that, and I was skeptical. But when he produced a lacquer disk and a cassette tape, I knew I wanted to incorporate them into the photos. We got the serious portrait out of the way and then had fun playing with the props.
