I’m not a wildlife photographer, but trying to photograph wild animals gives me great respect for those who are. On a visit to my family in Palm Beach County, Florida, I had the opportunity to walk around Green Cay Nature Center and Wetlands. Not having planned it, I didn’t have an appropriate lens with me, but I couldn’t resist shooting. So instead of trying wildlife photos, I made landscapes with wildlife in them. I longed for a lens with a farther reach than my 70-200 mm lens, but I enjoyed it enough that next time I visit, I’ll think about renting a long telephoto lens. Then I’ll have to think about waking up at four in the morning the way good wildlife photographers do.
