At the end of September, I will photograph Braking AIDS Ride, the 275-mile bike ride from Boston to New York to benefit Housing Works. I made a photo and card for a rider to use to help in her fundraising effort. On a beautiful, sunny morning we went to Madison Square Park where we found a spot of open shade with just enough backlight falling on her hair from the sky above. I lit her from the side with a strobe clamped to a park bench and with a little bit of fill light from a strobe mounted on my camera. She tells me her cards are working well for her fundraising.
