Perhaps the true meaning of Easter for those who don’t attend church on Easter Sunday is found in a visit to the petting zoo at The Standard High Line. I was tipped off to this deeply spiritual event by a New-York-o-phile friend in London who would like to have gone, but alas, she lives in London. So I decided to photograph it for her vicarious pleasure. In addition to traditional bunnies and chicks, there were ducks, sheep, goats, guinea pigs, an immense turtle, and even a baby kangaroo.
