Every November, Plymouth Church in Brooklyn Heights hosts the Yankee Fair, a community-wide festival with fun for all ages. The street in front of the church is closed and outfitted with a carnival of bouncy castles, pony rides, and other outdoor activities for children. Inside the church is a holiday craft fair, lunch with three varieties of chili (hardly anyone touched the vegan version), and more activities for the kids, including spin art, face painting, and crafts. In previous years, the church made do with members’ snapshots, but they were never quite right for use in publications and on the website. This year the church hired me to get specific shots and also let me do my best to capture the spirit of the day in my own style. Here are some of the results. And the spicy beef chili was delicious!
