There were a few hours between the Sand Blast Beach Party Saturday afternoon and the Deep Blue dance party that got started much later that night. I failed at taking a nap because of the excitement of the afternoon party and the anticipation of the rest of the night. Deep Blue was held in the ballroom of the Berkeley Hotel, and the event producer gave me the objective of showing off the lighting. I did this through a combination of straightforward photos and by trying some tricks like dragging the shutter and zooming the lens or rotating the camera during a long exposure. To get the high vantage points above the dancers, I scaled the posts of the lighting structure. I was afraid a security guard would forbid me to do that, but luckily I wasn’t stopped.
