Victor was a rider on Braking the Cycle, the three-day AIDS ride from Boston to New York that I photographed. Toward the end of the first day, he asked if I photographed weddings. I confirmed that I did, and we exchanged contact information. A few weeks later he booked me. The wedding was meant to be small, about 30 family and close friends, held at One If by Land, Two if By Sea. When word got out, the guest list expanded to about 120 people, but they retained the intimate venue.
The couple asked me to be present for the five-hours of ceremony and dinner, and to take mostly candid shots to capture the feeling of the day, much as Victor had seen me do on Braking the Cycle. It was a beautiful ceremony, a nice dinner, and a great time for everyone. I wish Victor and Patrick a lifetime of joy together.
