Behind the Scenes at the Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum

I had the opportunity to assist photographer Steven Rosen on his photo shoot at the Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum. Steven was hired by the Historic House Trust of New York City to make photos of dandies in the mansion’s lavish rooms. The photos will appear in the June issue of the Historic House Trust Journal. In addition to assisting, Steven asked me to make these behind-the-scenes photos (click here to see the complete set).

Steven made expert use of the abundant natural light steaming through the windows combined with studio strobes and Speedlites as necessary. As at any photo shoot like this, were were a few snafus to overcome, but they only fueled our creativity. You can see the results of the shoot on Steven’s blog.
