Jason Fazio, Asbury Park Firefighter

Asbury Park Firefighter Jason Fazio was critically injured this morning while fighting a fire on Main Street. The Asbury Park Press covered the story. Jason and I became good friends early on in my photo documentary project on life at the Asbury Park Fire Department. In all the time I spent with the firefighters, I haven’t been to the scene of an actual fire, and I don’t know how I would have handled seeing Jason throw himself out of a window to save his life had I been there photographing today. Jason is truly a hero to put his life on the line for the community. I hope for a speedy recovery.

Here are some photos of Jason, outtakes from my documentary project.
