At last, I had a glimpse of the true meaning of the holiday season while photographing the Plymouth Church Christmas pageant. The bonds of love and fellowship between children, parents, and the community at large were abundantly apparent at this Advent worship service that included the pageant. I was warned that it would be like photographing a sporting event, and while the energy among the children was as high as ever, the spirit and cooperation of everyone made the work effortless. Once again, working with Plymouth Church was a high point of my career as a photographer.
One of the reasons I was hired for this event was to document the morning for the parents so they could relax and enjoy the pageant without feeling the obligation to take their own photographs. I’ve set up a site where parents can browse and purchase prints of my photos. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Mission School of Hope in Cameroon, Africa, a charity associated with Plymouth Church.
