Training for Braking the Cycle

Summer Streets

I’m training for Braking the Cycle in a new way this summer. Instead of riding in the 300-mile, Boston to New York fundraising ride to benefit the HIV/AIDS services of the LGBT Center in New York, I will volunteer as a photographer to document the heroic efforts of the riders and crew. This weekend I got to practice during Summer Streets, an event where nearly seven miles of streets were closed from the Brooklyn Bridge to Central Park. There were plenty of cyclists in motion for me to photograph. Here are some of my favorite photos.
